Darkest Peru, is an independent café dedicated to sharing the rich flavours and traditions of Peru in an intimate and welcoming space, just a 10-minute walk from Old Street Station.

Founded in 2025 by Pedro Tello -a Peruvian architect with a passion for food- created a space where coffee and culture come together.

Peruvian food is a story of migration and tradition, shaped from Incan roots, Spanish influence and Asian techniques. Our sandwiches reflect this evolution. The Lomito Sandwich, inspired by Lomo Saltado, blends stir-fried beef, onions, and tomatoes with the umami of soy sauce—a legacy of Peru’s Chinese immigrants. The Pollada Sandwich reimagines our beloved marinated roast chicken, while the Smashed Sausage Sandwich brings the bold, spiced tones of Northern Peru to London.

Our cakes celebrate Peru’s deep love for sweets. Tres Leches, a rich sponge soaked in three kinds of milk, reflects European baking traditions embraced in Latin America. Chiffon de Naranja, an airy citrus cake, carries the brightness of Peruvian orchards, while our Torta de Chocolate is made with intense Peruvian cacao, one of the finest in the world.

And, of course, there is Peruvian coffee. We source our beans from the high-altitude farms of Peru, where some of the world’s best coffee is grown. Smooth, rich, and complex, it’s the perfect companion to our food—bringing warmth, depth, and a taste of the Andes to London.

Each is made with care, using the finest ingredients, honouring tradition while embracing the present. At Darkest Peru, every bite is a connection to history.

Come and try for yourself!
